The Idaho Statesman Obituary published December 06, 2005 Leona Kathleen Johnson Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Leona Kathleen Johnson returned to our Father in Heaven, Dec. 2, 2005, at 2:43 p.m. surrounded by her husband and children. She is now reunited with her father, William Edwin Tullis, her mother Chrissie Elese Pascoe and two brothers, Frederic (Rick) Charles Tullis, Craig Armont Tullis and her son-in-law Kent R. Chandler. Leona was born to William (Edwin) and Chrissie Tullis on Nov. 29, 1934, in Nampa, Idaho. She lived in Nampa, Marsing, Homedale, Seattle, Grand View and Mountain Home. Leona was married to Keith Ardell Johnson on March 25, 1955. They were married more than 50 years. She was sealed to Keith and their children for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City, Utah (LDS) Temple on March 14, 1966. She worked at the Samaritan Hospital in Nampa and took a practical nursing course before she was married. After she married Keith she served as a dedicated wife and mother for all of her life. Leona is survived by her husband Keith A. Johnson, her children, Charlotte Ann Canella, Tami Lynn Chandler, Keith S. Johnson, David A. Johnson and Susan Dianne Mason, 21 grandsons, nine granddaughters and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four brothers; Clinton Tullis, Ed Tullis, Duane Tullis, Marlin Tullis, and four sisters; Chrissella McDermott, Eulia Tullis, Helen Nanney, Laurine Raber, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Leona has been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for most of her life and has served in many positions including a full time mission to New Zealand, from November 1995 to May 1997. She loved to sing, dance and play with her family. She never missed an opportunity to serve others. She will be deeply missed. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 9th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 1150 No. 8th East in Mountain Home. There will be a viewing from 10 - 0:45 a.m. before the funeral and on Thursday evening, Dec. 8 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, located at 500 No. 18th East, in Mountain Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home. |
