OBIT:LEONA KUHN Miss Leona Catherine Kuhn, 87, last surviving member of a pioneer Tuscarawas Co. family and a former resident of this city, died at 3:30 p.m. yesterday at the Evangelical and Reformed Church Home for the Aged at Upper Sandusky. Miss Kuhn, a retired school and music teacher and prominent church worker, was born in York Twp May 13, 1866 and was a daughter of the late Daniel and Rosina Intermill Kuhn, early settlers in that township. She resided for many years in her later life with Miss Gertrude Kaderly of this city and had been at the church home for approximately seven years. For many years Miss Kuhn was organist and a Sunday school teacher in the Jerusalem Evangelical and Reformed church, Stone Creek road and at the time of her death was a member of the First Evangelical and Reformed church, this city, where she formerly taught the B.B. class. She was active for years in church mission work in this area and other parts of Ohio. Miss Kuhn at one time was a justice of the peace in York twp. She attended Mt. Union and Oberlin colleges. Among survivors is a nephew, Dan Wenger of Stone Creek. Funeral services Thursday evening at the church home in Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. E.E. Zechiel officiating, will be followed by services at Jerusalem church Friday at 2 p.m. with Dr. T.W. Hoernemann of this city and the Rev. Lowell Zechiel of Stone Creek road officiating. Burial will be in the Jerusalem church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until time for services[PattiOlsson.FTW]
