Leo E. Wolfe, 80, of Chebanse died Saturday, December 24, 1988, at St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee following a two-year illness. (6 am) Visitation was from 4-8 pm Tuesday at the Clancy Funeral Home in Kankakee. Services were at 10 am Wednesday at the Sts. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Chebanse. The Reverend J. Anthony Meis officiated. Interment was in the church cemetery. Mr. Wolfe was born September 19, 1908 in Milks Grove Township, to William L. and Mary Buck Wolfe. He married the former Evadene Rose on September 19, 1935 in Irwin. She survives. Also surviving are a son, John, of Claremont, New Hampshire; a daughter, Loretta Wolfe, of Chebanse; four grandchildren, Pamela, Jean, Mary and Steve, all of New Hampshire. Preceding him in death were his parents, and a son, Leonard. Mr. Wolfe retired from the Northern Illinois Gas Company after 39 years of service and was also a retired farmer from the Chebanse area. He was a member of the Sts. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters.


Leo Wolfe Chebanse - A funeral mass for Leo E. Wolfe, 80, of Chebanse, was celebrated at 10 am Wednesday at St. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Chebanse by the Rev. Anthony Meis. Mr. Wolfe died Saturday (Dec. 24, 1988) at St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Paul Bowers, Rick Kuntz, Robert Morrical, Eldon "Smiley" Fager, Al Cote, and Duane Behrends. (12-28-1988)
