Marcy: I don't know anything about Adam Giernat. When it comes down to it, I don't know if Giernat and Giernet and Giernett are all the same people.

All I have is that my grandfather's older sister married a Michael Giernet and they had three children, Mary and John who were born about 1905. John died in 1934 and Mary was dead by 1944. Their third son was Leo, born 13 March 1910. Leo married a Dorothy Helgren about 1930 and had one son, James, that I know of. James was born 17 August 1932 and died a few months later.

Leo moved to Minneapolis before he passed away. I called him once, but he didn't want to talk about family.

In the 1994 Duluth Telephone Directory there were listed a Lee, Robert and Terry Giernett and a Erma and a John Giernot in the Duluth directory.
