Lee Fagala, 86, Independence, MO passed away April 4, 2009. Graveside services will be at 3 pm, Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:30 – 2:30 pm Tuesday at Carson-Speaks Chapel.
Lee was born Jan. 10, 1923 in Lowell, AR. He was an over-the-road truck driver for forty-five years. As a member of Teamsters Local #41, he was instrumental in gaining additional benefits for his fellow union members. He was a proud member of Central Auto Racing Boosters (C.A.R.B.) Hall of Fame and loved auto racing. He also channeled his love for country music into organizing bus trips to attend country music shows around the nation. He attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Lee was preceded in death by his wife Roselyn on March 19, 2009 and sister Agnes Combs. He is survived by daughter Jeanne Dasta and husband Sal, Kansas City, MO; grandson Andrew Zimmerli and wife Jennifer, Overland Park, KS; great-grand daughters Leah & Rachel Zimmerli; and many nieces and nephews.
