Leander Grant Moorhead spent his life in Guernsey County, Ohio between Senecaville and the neighboring village of Lore City. He was born to George Alexander and Mary Susan Hale on a hot, humid August 12, 1872. He was a coal miner, engineer and fireman. His marriage to Harriett Struble produced nine children. After Harriett died in 1917 he married another Senecaville girl, Mary Elizabeth Fendivitch. There were no children from his second marriage. Lee is buried in Cambridge, Ohio’s Northwood Cemetery.
His children with Hattie are: Earl Wilson Steinbrook 1894-1975, Andrew Harrison 1897-1969, Mary Susan 1899-?, Leander Grant, Jr. 1902-1948, Carl Leroy 1904-1915, Gladys Lucile 1907-1999, Marguerite 1910-? And Winifred Evelyn 1914-1989.
"Injured seriously" when lightning struck Senecaville Methodist Episcopal church on 17 Aug 1890.
