    LeRoy Merveldt died Friday, March 2, 2012. He was born in El Reno, Oklahoma, August 12, 1925, to the late Herman and Nellie Little Merveldt. He was the brother of the late Dorothy Merveldt Mason. He graduated El Reno High School in 1944. He attended Oklahoma Military Academy before he served with the Navy in WWII. He attended the University of Oklahoma. He married the late Patricia Farley October 26, 1947. He was a partner with his father Herman in El Reno Construction and H. Merveldt & Son Farming and Ranching. He started Merveldt Irrigation in 1973. He was a Founding Board Member/ Original shareholder of American Heritage Bank of El Reno, which is now Interbank. He was a member of the Amity Club and a lifetime Elks member. He was raised in the First Christian Church of El Reno. He loved fishing with Pat at Lake Texoma, where he had a second home. Other hobbies include playing Polo in his younger days, watching OU football, playing golf and traveling with his wife of 58 years, Pat. LeRoy is survived by his three children: Kent Merveldt, Paul Merveldt, Lea Merveldt Tranakos; daughter-in-law, Terri Merveldt; son-in-law, Peter Tranakos; and six grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the First Presbyterian Church in El Reno. Burial will be in El Reno Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home, El Reno.
