LeRoy D. Kuehling, 73, of Barnes , Wis., died Friday, Dec. 12, 2008 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born Jan. 15, 1935 in Mount Carmel, Ill., to Ervie and Violet Kuehling.
LeRoy married Alice Chillquist Aug. 31, 1957 in Cheyenne, Wyo .
He was a retired U.S. Army veteran of 21 years of service. LeRoy served during the Vietnam War. After his military service, he was employed at St. Louis County Federal Savings and Loan.
He was a lifelong member of the VFW, Post 8329.
LeRoy is preceded in death by his parents, Ervie and Violet Kuehling and brother, Freddie.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Alice; children, Steven (Kathy) Kuehling of Duluth and Janet (John) Rosnau of Barnum; granddaughter, Sara; brothers, Ervie (Mary) Kuehling and Ed (Pat) Kuehling; sister, Eva Neville; and many relatives and friends.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008 in Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave , Duluth . Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Interment will be held at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, Wis., at a later date. Services entrusted to Cremation Society of Minnesota, 218-624-5200.
