Lawrence "Larry" S. Huntley, age 90, of Harrison passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024, at Select Specialty Hospital in Saginaw.
Larry was born in Clare on December 25, 1933, son of Orman and Martha (Crumrine) Huntley. Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army. He enlisted at the young age of 16 and honorably served in the Korean War. Following his military career, Larry married the love of his life, Rita Marie Sheldon on April 9, 1955, in Clare. Larry was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 1075 and a member of the Riders Group. Larry was a man about the town and always dressed to the nines. Larry was an avid Michigan State Spartan fan and loved mowing lawns, his, his neighbors, anyones lawn, Larry was there mowing. Larry had many many cars and recliners. He was constantly on the look for a new vehicle.
Larry is survived by his four daughters, Lois Marie McLurg, Linda Sue (Stephen) Pudvay, Connie Jean (Joe) Koenig, and Bonnie Jane Newton; one son, Dennis S. Huntley; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Rita "Stup" Huntley on August 23, 2018; and two sons-in-law, Ronald Earl McLurg and James Royl Newton.
