During my research on Mahlon Erb's family in eastern PA, I recorded information on a Lawrence Erb in Northampton County, PA. The Easton German Reform Cemetery has a listing for Lawrence Erb (b. 25 Dec 1758, d. 19 Apr 1808) and his wife Anna Marie (1758-1830). I believe the headstone must also say "in Captain Arndt's Co. 1776, Shrawder's Co. 1782." I also have notes of a Lawrence Erb (d. 1750) in Philadelphia with his wife Anna Margaretha, who were parents to sons Casper and Lodowig Erb - from "Philadelphia County Wills (Abstracts), 1763-1784." I hope this info helps in some way. Good luck!
