    p. 573 states that Lavinia was the "doubly orphaned daughter of George Henderson, who had bequeathed her a large amount of property, she having been in the home of her uncle at the time of her marriage".

    p. 792 states that John met Lavinia in Hagerstown, Maryland, "where he formed an acquaintance of a daughter of George Henderson, who was of Scotch linage. This young woman became his wife, she having been a girl at the time of her parents' death and having received a goodly heritage of property".

    states that John met Lavina in Hagerstown, Maryland. "She was the daughter of George Henderson, and was of Scotch descent. Her parents died when she was quite young, leaving her a large amount of property, She made her home with her uncle until she was married, after which the young couple moved to Indiana County, Penn., where they resided a short time and then removed to Rumley Township, Harrison County. purchasing a large farm where they resided until their death".

    A search of records in 1995 at the Hall of Records, Annapolis, MD, revealed a marriage between John Henderson and Vina Henderson took place in Cecil C. MD (not Hagerstown, which is in Washington Co.) on 27 February 1809. The minister was Rev. Mr. McGraw, Cecil Co., MD. (Ref: "Marriage Licenses 1777 from Index 6, Drawer 25, p. 187, Cecil Co. MD, DAR WK 980 Microfilm).
