His death was coused by complications of ailments incident to one of his age. He was son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Bittner, and was born in Lairmer township, where he resided all his life. In 1846 he was united in marriage with Miss Lavina Cook, who preceded him to the spirit would five years ago. He is survived by five children, Emanuel, Charles, Mrs. Lavina Beal of Ursina, Mrs Savilla Geiger and Mrs. Matilda Geiger, both of Wittenberg. He is also survived by three brothers, Eli of Garrett, Jonathan of Jones’ Mills, Westmoreland County, and John of Wittenburg. Mr. Bittner was a consistent and faithful Christian gentleman all his life and was loved and respected by all who knew him.
