LaVerne M. Miller, former longtime resident of Jeannette, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017, in UPMC Heritage Place in Squirrel Hill, just four days past her 94th birthday. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred F. Miller, and a son-in-law, William Rebmann. LaVerne was the loving mother of and is survived by son, Jeffrey Miller, and his husband, David McDougal, of Pittsburgh, and daughter, Phyllis Rebmann, of Southampton, N.J. She was gramma of four, great-gramma of three and beloved aunt to many in the Loughner and Miller extended families. LaVerne was a graduate of Jeannette High, class of 1941, and worked at the Elliott Company during World War II. She was a member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Jeannette where she sang in the choir and was active in Women's Ministries. With her husband she volunteered with Meals on Wheels for 21 years, was part of the Greengate Twirlers Square Dance Club and enjoyed traveling. She was a lover of flowers and will be remembered for her African violets and summer flower gardens.
Friends will be received 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Gethsemane United Methodist Church, 213 N. Third St., Jeannette. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
