Laura Mae 'Tootie' Zimmerman Oct. 6, 1926 -- Dec. 8, 2004
------ Laura Mae "Tootie" Zimmerman, 78, of Kansas OH, passed away peaceful ly Wednesday, with her family at her side, at the Independence House in Fo storia. Laura was born in Toledo to Ruth (Younkin) Iannuci of Risingsun. Following a courtship and his discharge from military service, Laura marri ed Ross F. Zimmerman of Kansas on March 10, 1946. Ross passed away Sept. 2 9, 1991. Surviving family members include three sons and their wives, Bill and Ju dy of Elmore, Larry and Kathy of Wayne, and Bob and Lisa of Fremont; a dau ghter and her husband, Brenda and Gerald (Dude) Creeger of Kansas; seven g randdaughters, Aimee, Emily, Andrea and Alyssa Zimmerman, Angie (Joel) Bea chkofsky, Jessica (Randy) Tyson and Gretchen Creeger; one grandson, Tony Z immerman; and sister, Mary Mylek of Temperance, Mich. Laura graduated from Risingsun High School in 1944. She was employed at La kota High School as head cook for 23 years until her retirement in 1986. Laura was an active lifelong member of Risingsun First Church of God, havi ng served in many capacities including, Primary Sunday School Teacher, Vac ation Bible School, Junior Worship Leader, lifemember of WCSC and servi ng on the board as Deaconess. She was a member of the Risingsun Senior Cit izens, American Diabetes Association, Lakota Retirees, and past memb er of the Lakota Athletic Boosters, Music Boosters, and Mothers and Othe rs Club. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Harrold-Floriana Funer al Home, Fostoria. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Risingsun First Church of God, with the Re v. Paul J. Rutledge officiating.
