Petersen in Norway. Peterson in Utah The Salt Lake Herald-Republican, 10 Sep 1909, Fri, Page 3 Ephraim, Sept 9 -- Lars Peterson, one of the pioneer residents of this city, died at his home after an illness of several weeks. Mr. Peterson was born in Christiania, Norway Feb 4 1827. While a young man he embraced the Mormon religion and after his marriage to Karen Peterson they emigrated to Utah, arriving in this city thirty years ago. Mr Peterson was always one of Ephraim's prominent citizens, taking an active part in both religious and political affairs. The funeral services were held at the Tabernacle where many relatives and friends were assembled. The speakers were Henry Beal, C R Dorlius, C C A Christensen and J P Jensen. The Tabernacle choir furnished the music under the direction of Professor Frank Christianson.
