Note from Jerry D. Stephens: Lars C. Larson came to Wauzeka, WI from Norway in 1856 with his mother and two brothers. There he grew to manhood and married Marcelia Dunning in IL. About 1876 they moved to Bridgewater, SD where she died of childbirth. Lars was energetic and able, was a farmer, a Justice of the Peace, and a Clerk of the Court. About 1880, Lars and the children moved to Friday Harbor, WA where he married his second cousin Caroline Syverson who later died of TB. Lars later married Orinda Mann, but they were separated and divorced. He died of complications from an operation in 1908.
