ARM AMPUTATED --
Landy Cline, of Whitestown, Underwent Operation at Indianapolis.
Landy Cline, a retired farmer of Whitestown, had his right arm amputated at the St. Vincent's hospital yesterday. He had been suffering from cancer of the bone. The arm was amputated at the shoulder bone. (Lebanon Daily Reporter - Thurs., Apr. 25, 1918, pg. 1)

Landy M. Cline passed away at his home in Whitestown, Sunday afternoon after an illness of two weeks. He was born in Decatur county, Indiana and was 60 years, 6 months and 14 days old at the time of his demise. October 28, 1880, in this county, he married to Narcissus Laughner, who with one son Leo Clyde(sic) survives. One brother, Phillip F. Cline, is also living.
--- Mr. Cline was a member of the Missionary Baptist church at Whitestown, and the funeral was held from there Tuesday morning, with the pastor, Rev. W. F. Buckner, officiating. Interment in Oak Hill cemetery. (The Lebanon pioneer - Thurs., Dec. 26, 1918, pg. 5)
