Lafayett Couch, born Jan 1826 in Illinois

  2.   His birth is given in family trees as both 14 Jan 1826 and 1831. 1831 comes from Find A Grave, based on the photo of his gravestone, which uses the birth and death years of his first wife. This gravestone was undoubtedly created some time after his death, based on a misreading of the original gravestone, which was for his first wife. There appears to be no other evidence for him being born as late as 1831.
