KLAASSIEN (HOVEN) FLIKKEMA : DEATH CALLS TWICE IN ELEVEN DAYS AT FLIKKEMA HOME The grimm reaper of death paid it's second visit this morning at the Henry Flikkema home in this city. On October 16 , a daughter, Helen, answered the final summons and this morning at ten minutes past six, Mrs. Flikkema succumbed in death. She had been in ailing health for several years and the death of her daughter proved too much for her to bear and the shock hastened her demise. Kaaziena Hoven was born in Stedum, The Netherlands, on September 17, 1856, and therefore attained the age of sixty-nine years, one month and ten days. In February, 1882, she was united in marriage to Henry A. Flikkema in Holland. The following April they crossed the ocean to America, locating in Garden Plain, where they resided for twenty-three years on a farm. The rest of her life was spent in Fulton. Four children were born to this union. Albert H. of Minneapolis, Minn., Ben H. of Garden Plain, Mrs. Jake Temple of Garden Plain and Helen, who passed away on October 16. Her husband and three grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Flikkema was a member of the First Reformed church for many years and was known by al as a kind Christain loving woman. Her absence in her home will be sadly mourned. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 0'clock at the First Reformed church, with Rev. John Steunenberg officiating. Burial will be made in the Fulton cemetery.
