OBITUARY INJURIES FATAL TO KILLIAN SEIDL, 33, NEW FRANKEN FARM HAND DIES, FOLLOWING A FALL THURSDAY 1903 - JULY 1, 1937 Injuries incurred in a runaway about 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon caused the death of Killian Seidl, 33, who was driving a hay rack and hay loader on the farm of Henry Scott near New Franken. Killian died within 15 minutes of the accident, having suffered a crushed jawbone, a severely torn scalp and possibly internal chest injuries. No one saw the accident and it is not known whether Seidl became entangled with the mechanism of the loader. The cause of the runaway was also unknown. Seidl, who was thrown to the ground from the hayrack when the team bolted, was knocked unconscious by the fall and did not regain consciousness before his death. One of the farm hands, of whom there were several working in the same field, stopped the team. A nearby physician administered first aid, but Seidl died before the arrival of the ambulance. The deceased, who made his home at New Franken, had been working with a harvest crew in the hayfield at the Schott farm. Surviving are his mother, Mrs Theresa DePas of Green Bay; his father, Joseph K Seidl of Luxemburg; and four brothers and sisters, Mrs (Edna) Ed Michaelson, of Chicago; Mrs (Stella) Clarence Gussert, Orea Seidl, and Hilary Seidl of Green Bay. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in new Franken and Burial will be in the catholic cemetery at Luxemburg. The body will remain at the Mohr Funeral Home and may be viewed there after 7 p.m. this evening. |
