Madison Daily Leader April 14, 2003 Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, for Kenneth B. Jones, 89, who died April 14, 2003 at the Madison Community Hospital. The Revs. Ron Pinckney and Verlyn Hanson will officiate services at First Baptist Church, and burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. The family will be present from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel. Jones was born Dec. 13, 1913 at Adrian, Minn. to William and Blanche (James) Jones. He married Bessie Sample at Pipestone, Minn. on Nov. 29, 1933. She preceded him in death in 1996. He married Ruth Wernisch at Madison on April 25, 1998. He grew up in Madison graduating from Madison High School in 1931. He served in the US Army during WWII. He worked for 10 years at Raunchy's Bakery and for the US Postal Service from 1941 until 1976. He was a member of First Baptist Church for 72 years. Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Madison; two sons, Dale of Madison and Allen (Jane) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one daughter, Carol (John) McNamara of Coralville, Iowa; and four grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. The Weiland Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. |
