    Kenneth Ray "Johnny" Frakes, 59, died Wednesday, February 14, 1990, at the VA Hospital in Poplar Bluff, Mo. Son of the late Edgar and Eulice Larue Frakes, he was born September 22, 1930 at Steele, Mo. He also was preceded in death by one brother, Grant Frakes, and two sisters, Florene Frakes Tate and Ruby Lynn Frakes Tate.

    A member of the Church of Christ, he was a Naval veteran of the Korean War and a heavy metal welder.

    He leaves four nieces: Karen Tate Proctor of Koloa Kanai, Hawaii, Jane Frakes McCain and Norma Frakes Ketchum, both of Memphis, Tenn., and Jacqueline Wishom of Flagstaff, Ariz.

    Mr. Bill Lovelace conducted funeral services for Mr. Frakes at Bradshaw German-Aumon Chapel on Friday, February 16, 1990, at 10:00 a.m. Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with arrangements by German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele.

    Pallbearers were Gary Kellems, Donnie Freeman, Clyan Larue, Eugene Kellems, Sr., Eugene Kellems Jr., Truman Larue, Gervis Capps, Olan Johnson, and W. M. Barnes.
