Kelly Thomas

Funeral services for Kelly Thomas, 61, of Lubbock will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at Cooper United Methodist Church in Woodrow with Rev. O.K. Neal officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Me- morial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

He was born Nov. 15, 1942, in San Saba, Texas. He died Sat., May 29, 2004, in Lubbock. He graduated from Lubbock- Cooper High. He married Kay Bradshaw on Sept. 23, 1961, in Lubbock. Kelly farmed over 40 years in Lubbock County. He was a member of Cooper United Methodist Church and served on various agriculture committees. He was an honorable man and leaves his family with a proud legacy. His grandchildren called him "Big Daddy." He was preceded in death by his dad, an infant son, a brother and an infant granddaughter.

Kelly is survived by his wife, Kay Thomas; a daughter, Kelly Kennedy and husband Rex of Lubbock; a son, Kurtis Thomas and wife Rory of Lubbock; his mother, Esma Thomas of Lubbock; three brothers, all o f Lubbock; a sister of Abilene; and seven grandchildren: Thomas, Tyler, Bailey, Sydney, Shelby, Guthrie and Grace. The family suggests memorials to Cooper United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday.
