    came to Andover with plan to study for ministry.
    — In employ of Jonathan Leavitt, bookbinder, Andover, and succeeding him in the "Seminary Bindery," 1828-36, removing then to New York City, and carrying on the same business till his death.
    Res. for a time (previous to 1827) at Providence, R.I., engaged in publication of Independent Inquirer.
