    Keith Wardwell, 92, died Saturday, December 6, 2008, at Community Hospice Inpatient Center in Vidalia. The Michigan native had lived in Toombs County for the past two and a half years. He retired from General Motors Corporation with 25 years of service, and graduated from Michigan State University. He was a Navy veteran with 14 years of service, a VFW and American Legion member, and was of the Baptist faith.

    He is survived by his wife, Hazel D. Wardwell of Lyons; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and James Sikes of Lyons; sister-in-law, Ruth Wardwell of Holt, Michigan; grandchildren: Charlton and Tracy Calhoun and Chris Calhoun; greatgrandchildren, Conner and Tyler Calhoun; and several nieces and
    nephews.

    Graveside funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, at Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, with Dr. Rick Cason officiating. Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home of Glennville, Georgia, was in charge of the arrangements.
