Grand Forks Herald (ND) - July 7, 2001 Keith Papachek, 58, New Rockford, died Thursday, July 5, 2001, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo. Keith Lance Papachek was born July 2, 1943, the son of Edward and Louella (Casper) Papachek, in Devils Lake. He graduated from high school in Warwick, N.D., in 1961. He attended Interstate Business College, Fargo, in 1962. He worked for Steinman Manufacturing, Carrington, N.D., Border States Electric of Fargo and Bismarck, and farmed in the Warwick area. He underwent the first double lung transplant at the University of Minnesota on Jan. 1, 1988. They moved to New Rockford, in December 1997. On April 27, 2001, he received a kidney transplant, donated by his daughter, Deanna, in MeritCare Hospital. He is survived by his wife; daughters, Marsha Papachek, Bismarck, and Deanna (Kevin) Anderson, Warwick; a grandson; his mother, Devils Lake; sisters, Kay (Dayton) McKelvey, Wilton, N.D., and Kerry (Joe) Bernier, New Rockford; and a brother, Larry (Shirley), La Salle, Colo. He was preceded in death by his father; and his grandparents. Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Warwick Lutheran Church. Visitation: 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford. Burial: Warwick Cemetery. |
