The death occurred on Sat. 5th May 1951, at the home of his parents, Redcliffe, Brisbane, of Mr. Keith Robert Martin (QX17296, Second A.I.F., 8th Division), following a long and painful illness contracted while on war service. Keith was born in Dalby, History (Part 1) |

Queensland, in 1923, and spent his boyhood in the Tara district. In 1940 at the age of 17 years, Keith enlisted with his father and 3 brothers, and in Feb. 1941, sailed with his brother, Ted, for Malaya, where he saw service with the 8th Division, until History (Part 2) |

the fall of Singapore, where he became a prisoner of war. During the next 3 1/2 years Keith endured the starvation and suffering of Japanese prison camps, much of his time being spent on the infamous Burma-Thailand railway. The latter part of Keith's History (Part 3) |
