Kay Douglas Burdick, 69, of 309 N. Palm St., Janesville, died at home Saturday, April 14, 2001, of an apparent heart attack.
He was born Sept. 23, 1931 in Milton, The son of Robert and Margaret (Hutchins) Burdick. He graduated from Milton Union High School in 1949. He married Shirley Moore on June 7, 1952. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He lived in Janesville all of his married life and was a member of Cargill United Methodist Church. He retired from Warner Electric Brake, Beloit.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of Janesville; two sons, Daniel and Brian of Janesville; two daughters: Sherry (Terry) Muth of Janesville and Brenda Burdick of Janesville; two brothers, Robert (Diana) Burdick of Boulder, Colo., and Keith (Mary) Burdick, of Slinger, Tex.; two sisters, Carolyn Payne of Youngstown, Ohio and Eleanor (Allen) Shepherd of West Palm Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Crystal.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at Albrecht Funeral Home. Rev. Bob Hays officiated. Burial was in the Milton Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his name.
