Nix, Kathryn

Kathryn Nix, 72, Altoona, died Wednesday, April 9, 2003.

She is survived by her family.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Altoona. Burial in Altoona/Walnut Grove Cemetery. Valley Chapel, Oneonta, is in charge.

Earlene I wrote you once but must have deleted it before I sent it. I cannot now find the original. So here goes again.

NIX, Katherine (Kathryn) b 1931 daughter of Arthur S. Nix and Verdia (Bertie) Wilemon

NIX, Katherine (Katie ) b 1913, daughter of James Russell Nix and Fannie V. Humphries

NIX, Kattine J. b 1915, daughter of James E NIx and Cora B. Unknown

So the selection is fairly easy, she was the daughter of Arthur S. NIx and the Granddaughter of James Russell. That makes her Daddy's first cousin and our first cousin once removed. She was exactly the same age as I am. So even though she was Daddys cousin she was a full generation apart in age, so that must be why Daddy never associated. I wonder why we never knew her or even knew of her??? But then I never knew Russell either. You know now that I started all of that I belive that Arthur was the one that had an auto repair place in Altoona. I was in his shop several times. I think that I found him in Oneonta the first year after he married, 1930 census, working in a auto garage. She never married, and I think that I found her as a Snead College graduate and a school teacher, but I will have to check.
