We do have a record of a Katherine Hulse born NY in 1795 to Thomas Huls. But is this the same person? On the 1850 census the households after Joshua & Catherine Rawling are Gilbert Hulse, Jabez Hulse and Reuben Hulse. According to the Hulse Web Site these 3 Hulse's along with Katherine match up by name and age and birthstate with 4 of the children of Thomas Hulse and Leah Weatherby. Therefore we conclude that Katherine is indeed the child of Thomas Hulse. Also telling is the fact that their son Jabez is given the middle name of Weatherby, apparently named after Katherine's mother.
