Facts and Events
It was in Putney Church, in the year 1494, that Katherine Cromwell, then a young lady about eighteen years of age, was married to a young man of Welsh extraction named Morgan Williams. From the issue of this marriage sprang in the fourth generation, the renowned LORD PROTECTOR OF ENGLAND, OLIVER CROMWELL. Her brother was Thomas Cromwell, chief minister to King Henry VIII of England from 1532 to 1540, when he was executed on Tower Hill. References
