Work of a "Banvakt" "It's from the time of old steam powered trains. They (blew) out a lot of ashes in the smoke and a lot (were) still burning. So, before and after a train was to come, they sent out a Banvakt. Before, just to see that everything was OK. No fallen trees on the trail.... After, so it wasn't burning in the forest! They lived in a little cottage along ... the trail. Had a small salary and often a pig and or a cow and a little farming to survive. Of course, they did a lot of other things, too."
