Karen Ann Howard, 75 of Cookeville passed from this life Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
She was born Saturday, April 14, 1945 in Frankfort, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Alvin and Agnes (Hubert) Laughner.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her. She was an English professor, primarily at TTU in Cookeville and Volunteer State in Livingston, Tennessee. She was the type of teacher who not only taught English but also taught life skills, as many of her former students remember her fondly to this day. She enjoyed UK basketball, reading books and opera.
Karen is survived by one daughter, Angie Howard of Louisville, Kentucky; two sons, Brian Howard and Eric Howard, both of Cookeville; one granddaughter, Talia Howard of Cookeville; one sister, Jan Davidson of Indiana; two brothers, Alvin Laughner and Mike Laughner, both of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
Karen had chosen cremation and a memorial service may be held at a later date.
