page 10-5627 calls him Justus Fred'k they resided in Sundance, Cook co., WY say they had 5 children but no children listed His father, John W. Williams, was a native of the state of New York, and his wife Amanda Jane Williams was born in Fulton County, Illinois. They were married in Michigan, where they resided until October, 1850, when they moved to Fulton County, Illinois. In 1855, they located in Kansas, where Mr. Williams engaged in farming. He was a blacksmith by trade and followed that occupation many years. He died June 1, 1885, and his widow died at Rock, in March, 1898. They reared the following children: George H.; Stephen D., who died in Douglass, Kansas, in 1894; Justus F., who was a stock raiser, and resided in Wyoming; John F., who was a farmer and stock breeder, and resided in Osage County, Kansas; Christopher V., who was a harness maker, and lived in Osage County, Kansas; Ella J., deceased, who was the wife of Peter Taylor; Ida E., who was the wife of T. Stephens, of Lawrence, Kansas; Abraham L., who was a stone mason; Limon P., who resided near Rock, Kansas, and was a gardener; Arthur W., who was a farmer in Kansas; and Floyd E., who was a farmer of Lyon County, Kansas. Obituary from the Moorcroft Times March 21, 1912 page 1 Justus F. Williams, an honored pioneer of Crook county, died at the old home west of Sundance March 16, 1912, at an advanced age. Williams has been in failing health for two or three years and only recently returned from hospital treatment in Omaha. Even on his return from the east, when it was known that the end was not far, Mr. Williams was cheerful and had a good word for his friends, as usual. His was a disposition and character that will long be missed. The deceased leaves a wife and four sons, the latter being engaged in the stock business southwest of Moorcroft. The sincere sympathy of friends goes out to the bereaved widow and sons. Obituary from the Crook County Monitor Friday March 22, 1912 page 1 On the sixteenth day fo this month occured the death of Julus F. Williams at his home on Houston creek. Mr. Williams was one of the early settlers of this county, having come here in the fall of 1888. He was well known and respected by a large circle of friends who will regret his passing to the world beyond. He was born in Grand Island, Michigan on the tenth day of May 1850; and at the age of five years moved with his parents to Illinois, thence to Kansas in the early seventies. He leaves to mourn his death a wife, one daughter and four sons. The daughter is Mrs. Ben West of Prosser, Wash. Three of the sons, Fred, Walter and Leo are on stock ranches south of Upton. The other son, Frank, is on the home ranch with his mother. All of the above, excepting Mrs. West, were present at the funeral. The body was laid to rest in the Miller Creek Cemetery.
