Fleshood
Junious Parrish (J.P.) Fleshood
, age 85, of Lawrenceville, Va., died January 4, 2003. Mr. Fleshood
was a retired dairy farmer and a lifetime member of Lawrenceville Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mary Adcock Fleshood
; three children, Susan F. Doby and husband, Neal of Huntsville, Ala., June F. Crafton and husband, Rick of South Hill, and Dr. Kell Fleshood
and wife, Nancy of South Hill; five grandchildren, Garnet Doby, Brie Doby, Tommy Green, Kristen Walker and Caleb Fleshood
; four great-grandchildren, Andrew Green, Michaela Green, Claire Walker, and Charlotte Walker; and a sister, Mary F. Rawlings of Richmond. A memorial celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Lawrenceville Baptist Church with a reception to follow in the social hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brunswick Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 33, Lawrenceville, Va. 23868. Williams Funeral Home, Lawrenceville in charge of arrangements. - ↑ From an email from Mary Susan Fleshood to Eric S. Fleshood on 13 Sep 2010: "On Jan2003 Daddy died in South Hill Community Hospital in South Hill, Va He was cremated and his ashes were spread over all his favorite places – his work house, all his favorite hunting places around Green Town. We saved some to be buried in the Fleshood site in Lawrenceville, Va cemetary (old part). Kell, Tommy Green (June's son & only child), Andrew Green, June and I drove all around that winter day, remembering,laughing, and sometimes crying – knowing this is exactly what he would have wanted us to do. While he was in a comathat day, we all gathered around and told stories about our family and thethings that had happened during our lives. We laughed, and cried, patted his hands and head, rubbed his feet, and then, he just stopped breathing. DavidFleshood spoke at Daddy's Memorial Service at Lawrenceville BaptistChurch. I also spoke, told stories about Daddy (those that were acceptable in Church!), and his good friend, Buzzy__________________(cannot remember his last name – That, Kell will know.) also spoke. The church was standing room only and afterwards, saw and visited with So Very Many People had not seen in decades! It may be bad to say but I had The Most Fun after his service. He would have Loved it!"
