STATON---Paintsville, Kentucky-November 12, 1948, Mrs. Julia Ann Staton, 65, wife of Perry Jackson Staton of Van Lear,died at her home Saturday, November 12, about 6:00 am, follOwing an illness of several years. She was born February 26, 1884 in Bath County, the daughter of William and Margaret Warner Williamson, She had been a resident of Van Lear for about twenty years and was a member of the Church of Christ. Surviving besides her husband are four children; three daughters, Mrs. Pauline Manning, Wyandotte, Michigan; Mrs; Ruby Adams, Van Lear , Ky., Miss Esther Staton at home; one son Chester Staton, Wyandotte, Michigan. Surviving also are the following brothers and sisters; George Williamson, Mrs Mary Rothwell, Mrs. Effie Williamson of Paint Creek, W. Va., Mrs. Catherine Clark, Mrs. Martha Handley both of Huntington, W. Va., and Mrs. Lizzie Billups of St. Albans, W. Va. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Walter Hooper at 2:00pm Monday, November 14th, at the Freewill Baptist Church at Van Lear. Burial was in the Wells-Buckingham cemetery in this city under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home.
