Julia VanWinkle, age 89, widow of the late Charles VanWinkle, died in Mercy hospital in Elwood this morning of injuries suffered in a fall at her home in Windfall
three weeks ago. Mrs. VanWinkle suffered a fractured left hip and had been in the hospital three weeks.

She had lived alone since the death of her husband seven years ago.

Known as Aunt Julia to her many friends, she had enjoyed remarkable health for one of her age until a few weeks ago when an attack at the flue left her in
    a weakened condition.

She was born in Windfall, Aug. 1, 1854, the daughter of William and Caroline (Hendrickson) Dennis. She married Mr. VanWinkle on October 30, 1872.

The couple resided east of Windfall for a number of years and later purchased a farm in Scott county where they were living at the time of his death in 1936.

Mrs. VanWinkle then returned to Windfall.
