The death of Mrs. Juanita Clark, early Monday morning, is the saddest event that has occurred here in many years. She came home from Sullivan sick of scarlet fever and because it is a contagious disease, no one was permitted to visit her and the attention she received cam from her physician and her mother, who were untiring in her care. Her father, Wm. Carpenter is almost helpless from paralysis. Although only 21 years of age, Mrs. Clark had known much of sorrow. Several years ago she was married to Robert Clark, but for some reason the young couple separated and she came home with her infant child. A short while after it sickened and died. She took up the millinery business and fitted herself for that trade. Last season was her first as a trimmer and she had promise of a good future. After prayer at the home by Rev. Kaley the remains were taken to the Lutheran cemetery Tuesday afternoon and laid to rest beside her child. It is a sad thought that one so young, so beautiful and so full of promise, should pass away. The Sunday school she loved, the people with whom she mingled nearly all her years, and the friends and relatives who were most near and dear, feel the untimely bereavement. The sympathy of the whole community goes out to her father and mother. Many flowers from loving friends covered her grave.
