Juanita L. Strausbaugh, 77, of Oaklawn Avenue passed away Monday at Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Risingsun to the now-deceased Joseph and Cleta (Thrasher) Bates.

Juanita is survived by sons, Stephen, Oak Harbor, Jerry, Redman, Wash., Gregory, Reading, Calif., Randy, Sandusky, Thomas, Laurenburg, N.C., Mark, Elizabethtown, Ky.; daughter, Karen Nehls, Grand Rapids OH; brothers, Norman Bates, Newport News, Va., Darrell Bates, Sun City West, Ariz., Derwin and Mike Bates, Fremont, Gilbert Bates, Payette, Idaho; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was previously married to Ray Strausbaugh who survives.

She was the owner-operator of the Great Lakes Motel until she retired in 1986. She was also a realty agent for Sun Mart Realty in Fremont.

Family Gathering: 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Wonderly-Horvath Funeral Home.

Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
