JOSIAH ZIMMERMAN, farmer, P 0. Clyde, Sandusky CO is a native of Adams T wp Seneca Co OH, born October 20, 1847; son of John and Rebecca (Fishe r) Zimmerman, who emigrated from PA to this State and CO more than forty y ears ago, and here remained until their death. Our subject was rear ed on a farm, has followed farming all his life, and purchased land in Ada ms Twp this CO in 1880. He was married, January 1, 1873, to Miss Harri et E Shellhammer, who is also a native of Adams Twp born December 14, 184 8. To this union have been born four children: Clara J, Lena M, Jesse W a nd Vinnie E (deceased). Mrs. Zimmerman is a daughter of Charles and Elizab eth (Whiteman) Shellhammer, natives of PA They both came to OH in an ear ly day, she in 1835, and he in 1842. They were married here and have rear ed a family of four children: Sarah J, Harriet E, Wm C and Viola, all of w hom are now married. In politics Mr. Zimmerman has identified himself wi th the Democratic party.
