    Josiah Willard, "b. say 1631", m. Concord 20 Mar 1656/7 Hannah Hosmer.
[Note: The reasons for the 1631 estimate is not given. According to Anderson's presumed birth order, Josiah is placed after Mary b. "say" 1629, and before surviving daughter Elizabeth b. "say" 1633, then an improbable gap until Samuel, b. "1639[/40?]". The 1st daughter Elizabeth, and daughter Dorothy alleged by the Willard Memoir, both d. infancy, are left out. Regarding them, Anderson claims, "no evidence has been found for these daughters, who, if they existed, would have been born and buried in England before the family came to New England", but note that if they existed, they would impact the birth order. If correct, a birth about 1631 would place the birth in England.]

Josiah Willard, s/o Simon, born Concord "about the year 1635". According to the testimony of fellow passenger, Elizabeth Bacon, arrived May 1634 on same ship as her. "Inferred from his after history that his wife and at least one child were with him ... but no proof of these points."
[Note: If of legal age at time of marriage in 20 Mar 1656/57, the birth would need to be bef. 20 Mar 1635/36. Willard's presumed birth order shows Mary, first daughter Elizabeth, surviving daughter Elizabeth (m. 1653), Dorothy d. infancy, Josiah "b. about 1635", then Samuel 1639-1640. If correct, the birth about 1635 would place the birth in New England, possibly Charlestown or possibly Concord (the father sold his Charlestown land 25 Aug 1635 (here) moving to Concord).]
