Josiah served in the French War and went to Nov Scotia in 1763, to accept a land grant. He apparently was a loyal soldier of the Crown in the Revolution and helped repel the Rebels from Nova Scotia. He was a farmer in that section now called Middle Sackville, N.B. Josiah and Jemima are buried side by side in the Four Corners Cem. at Upper Sackville, N.B.
