"Copy of Report of Ancestors Service received from Adjutant Generals Office.
The records of this office show that one Josiah Jackson served in the Revolutionary War in a cavalry organization of Virginia troops, designation of organization not shown. His name appears only on a list of soldiers and seamen who received certificates for the balance of their full pay agreeable to the act of Assembly, passed November session, 1781, which list shows relative to him, "By Whom drawn, Jr. Mortim; Time, April 2, 1784. Sum 36 pounds, seven shillings, eleven pense."
