"… Josiah DeWolf, born at Lyme, 15 Nov. 1689, died there in 1767, son of Simon and Sarah (Lay) DeWolf."
The will of Josiah DeWolf of Lyme, dated 25 Feb. 1767, proved 8 June 1767, mentions that he made a 'jointure' with his wife Abigail before marriage, and agreed to give her £9.6s. 'at or before our marriage: for the payment of which I Executed a Note of hand to her son Joseph Lord of sd Lyme on Interest,' and further agreed to give her 'Thirty one Dollers.' He gave to son Josiah DeWolf Junr the use and improvement of my dwelling house, barn, etc., for life; son Jabez DeWolf of Lyme; two sons Simon and Daniel 'that are now Deceasd' had full portions in their lifetime; 'Children and Heirs of my Daughter Judith Carter of Killings (Deceasd)'; granddaughter Anna Tucker, 'Daughter of my Daughter Elisabeth'; to grandson William DeWolf of Lyme, the residue, including the house of which life tenancy had been given to son Josiah, William to be Executor.
