Jim, have you determined if your Joshua is the same Joshua Rose who was married to Rebecca Woosley Rose? I am descended from their daughter Eliza Bailey Rose. I am interested in this store ownership. My Joshua was wounded in the Civil War, lost a leg. He came to Washington state, and is buried in a pioneer cemetery. Are we talking about the same one?

i think we're definately talking about the same Joshua Rose.My grandmother said he was in the civil war and still had his sword,and shoulder pieces when she passed away.It wouldnt suprise me that he came to Washington as alot of my relatives did and are buried in the pioneer cemeteries of northern Washington.

I think I may be in your Rose family line??

I just ran across a querry in another forum, asking "Looking for descendants of Rebecca Woosley Rose, daughters married Keenes in Morton, Mossyrock areas." My great grandmother is Jenny Pearl Rose married William Whittan (Whitten) Keene. They had 9 children. One of which was my grandmother, Ida Grace born in Morton Washington November 6, 1916. Linda, I sent you a message under a request about Jenny Keene, but will send one here, too. My grandmother was Eliza Bailey Rose Woods, daughter of Joshua and Rebecca Woosley Rose. She had a sister named Jenny. They lived in the Morton/Mossyrock area of Washington in the early 1900's, in fact Rebecca is buried in the Mossyrock cemetery, in a plot with a lot of Keenes. It is my understanding that Jenny was living in Everett, Washington at the time of her death. Other memebers of the family have information on the Keene family. There were about three of the Rose family who married Keenes and legend was that my grandmother was to have married another, but she ran off and married my grandfather. I am sure your Jenny is the lady that I remember from my childhood.

Hi sorry it took me so long to get back to you.My ggrandma Julia Rose married Wyatt Keene,son of Mathias Keene of Virginia.

Julia's parents are joshua R Rose and Rebecca Woosley.I know Joshua was from W.V. Alot of my family are in Washington State going back to 1858,and I think we are most likely related. I'll ask my mom about Jenny and get back to you. Bye Jim Swanson May 30, 2001

Julia is probably the same Julia age 2 who is with Joshua Rose age 47 and his wife Rebecca age 35 in the 1880 census of Tazewell Co., Va., 31/90/9/5, Maiden Springs Distr. This Joshua is prob. the same one who m. 5 Dec. 1866 in Tazewell Co. Va. to Rebecca woolsey.
