On 14 May, Joshua Hopkins of Eastham . . . Yoeman being Arived to Old Age In & a widower made his will. Bequests were as follows: Haveing already Given unto my two Sons Namely Elisha Hopkins & Joshua Hopkins Deeds of Considerable of My Lands I do Give unto my Daughter Lydia Hopkins thirty seven Pounds also . . . Ye Westerly Half part of my Dwelling House with half ye back Leanto with half ye barn with ye one half of all the Land of my homestead with One half of that my Parcell of Land Lying Near to ye Land of Joseph Doane, Esq.

To my Daughter Phebe Bixbe ye Easterly half part of my Dwelling house with ye one half of my Barn with One half of ye Lands of my homestead with ye One half of that Parsell of land Next to the land of Joseph Doane Esq. for hir to use & Improve all & Every Particular thereof During ye term of hir Natural Life & then after hir Decease I Give all & Every Particular therof to my Grandson Joseph Bixbee . . . also I give unto my Said Daughter Phebe Bixbee One Quarter part of my Meadow at Rock Harbor for his to use During ye term of hir Natural Life & then after hir Decease I give ye Same to my Said Grandson Joseph Bixbee.

Unto my above said Daughter Lydia Hopkins . . . One quarter part of my Meadow at Rock Harbor.. to my son Joshua Hopkins . . . one half of my Meadow at Rock Harbor to my Daughter Hannah Paine that Lott of land I bought of William Twining Lying Near to Stephen Snows to my Grandson Ebenr (Ebenezer) Paine . . . twenty Acres of that my Lot of Land in Harwich in ye Purchase made of ye Quasons Laying Near to Benjamin Philip to my two Grandsons Namely John Taylor & Edward Taylor . . . One Seventh part of my flats & Sedge Ground Lying Between Esnew Island Strong Island & so towards ye Harbour as It was Purchased by my Self & Sam'l Mayo.

all the Rest of my Estate Both Real & Personal Lying & being both in Eastham, Harwich & Chatham or Else Where I Give in Equal Proportion Alike to & Amount my Children Namely Elish Hopkins, Joshua Hopkins, Abigail Taylor, Mary Smith, Lydia Hopkins, Hannah Paine & Phebe Bixbe

I do Constitite . . . my Son Elisha Hopkins my Whole & Sole Exec'r.

Witnesses were Joseph Doane, Elisha Doane and Hannah Higgins.

The foregoing Will Being P'sented for Probate by Joshua Hopkins Administator Cu Testamento Anexo Elisha Hopkins who was appointed Exec'r by ye Testator Renouncing ye Exec'r Joseph Doane, Elisha Doane & Hannah Higgins Witnesses made oath to the will on August, 1738, before Meletiah Bourne, Judge of Probate.
