Barbadoes 16 Apr 1656 Margaret Vassal, m. (2) Boston 16 Jan 1671-2 Mary (Sunderland) Rainsford. Apparently all children by second wife. [Note: there is a theory (represented here), with no documentation at all of the event, that Joshua had three wives, based solely on trying to reconcile discrepant dates in some very confusing documents. Some of the confusing documents are discussed here. This theory would make Mary Rainsford Joshua's third wife. However, alternate explanations have also been made that would not require adding an unknown wife.]
