Joshua Dodge [#137], s/o Antipas Dodge [#39, p. 42] and Joanna Low, b. Ipswich 1 Feb 1701 [sic, see Ipswich VRs]. 1 Aug 1723, Joshua Dodge, of Boston, cordwainer, sold to Samuel Dodge of Ipswich house and homestead formerly the estate of his honored father Antipas Dodge, late of Ipswich, deceased. 12 Aug 1734 bought of Timothy Brown 77 acres in Brookfield. In May 1742 Joshua Dodge, cordwainer of Marlborough bought land in Brookfield. In May 1743 Joshua Dodge and wife Elizabeth of Brookfield sold land to John Kneeland. Will of Joshua Dodge of Brookfield, dated 13 Nov 1786, proved 2 Jul 1793, mentions wife Rebecca; son Joshua Jr., Caleb and Josiah; daughter Elizabeth; grandsons Joshua son of Samuel of Londonderry, grandsons Joshua and David Low Dodge [author notes "probably sons of Samuel"], Joshua and Elijah Burns [author says Elizabeth "prob. m. [Mr.] Burns"], Jonathan Peabody son of daughter Sarah Peabody. Dwight Foster and wife Rebecca to be executors.
