Joshua Dodge, son of Josiah, who came from England and settled in West Brookfield, m. Thankful Morse. He d. 24 Feb 1795. Children Lydia, Moses, Jonas, Nathaniel, Rugus, Thaddeus, Artemas, Eunice. [Note: origins in England seem ruled out by Dodge Family of Essex.]
- Note: Source:Crane, Ellery B. Historic Homes and Institutions and Genealogical and Personal Memoirs of Worcester County, Massachusetts appears to take its information directly from the Dodge Family of Essex. So does Source:Dodge, Roy L. History of the Dodge-Berry and Allied Families, but Mr. Dodge gets confused between Joshua who stayed in Brookfield and married Thankful Morse, and Josiah who moved to Westmoreland, NH, and married widow Thankful White. Most of what he says about Josiah is really Joshua! He doesn't discover his error, since being a descendent of Josiah, his lack of coverage of Joshua saves him from discovering the obvious contradictions. Compare to information in Dodge Family of Essex for Joshua [#407], Josiah #409 [p. 124 and p. 490]
