Query from Fred Gamble My grandmother, Josephine Barmore, came from MS to Texas as a young girl with her parents (father B.B. Barmore, mother Mary). Josephine married a Busset (Claude?), was widowed, then married a widower Joel Newton Crain in MacGregor, Texas. I believe Josephine was born in Natchoses (sp?), MS. I seek information about the parents of Josephine Barmore.

Note from Hayes Lowe on message board 2002: According to the information that I have found, your Benjamin B. Barmore is "Benjamin Bunyan Barmore". Ben Bunyan was born 11/22/1830. He was living in Pickens County, Ala. by 1838. His father was Reuben Pyles Barmore. His mother was Francis "Fannie" Ellis. His grandfather was George Barmore, Jr. His grandmother (on the Barmore side) was Nancy Pyles. He served in the 31st Miss. Infantry, Company G, which was primarily raised in Pontotoc County, Miss. He married Mary E. Davis on 2/1/1855. His father, and family, had moved to Winston Co., Miss. between 1845 and 1848. However, Benjamin Bunyan is not shown in the household in the 1850 census. All this is second hand information(except for the military service and 1850 census information, which I have personally checked).
